  • I lived in FMB area for almost 6 mos. and love it! I had to move back to the midwest for my job but will return when the time is right again. I’ve never loved any place as much as FMB. I met some fabulous people and spent my evenings watching the sunset at Channel Mark. Miss it every day of my life. So much to do and see there and yet is a wonderful place to just relax and breathe.

  • I have to say, Fort Myers and Fort Myers Beach are two of the great wonders of the USA. I have had the opportunity to travel the USA and abroad on numerous trips, and one things for certain, I keep coming back to the Fort Myers area year after year. I have spent many years working hard, and when I visit the Fort Myers area, I can rest assured that my batteries are recharged and ready to go. Being from the midwest I love the seasons, but when it comes to the dead of winter, there is nothing that compares to the beaches and beauty of the Fort Myers area. When I’m use to constant motion at home, I know when I come down to Fort Myers, I can truly relax. There is plenty to do or nothing to do, it’s your call.

  • My husband and I decided after 27 yrs. of marriage, to take a ‘real’ vacation. After researching warm places to visit in December, we made the decision to visit Fort Myers Beach. Our hope was to escape the cold and snow and simply find a warm, sunny place to relax on a beach and enjoy time away from work and home responsibilities.
We never dreamed we’d find exactly what we were looking for and so much more! From the pristine, white sands of the beach to the beautiful brown pelicans diving for fish in the gulf waters - the scenery is absolutely breathtaking! The sunsets on the beach draw people to stop everything, quiet their spirits, and capture to their memory the moment the huge sun finally reaches the gulf horizon in a burst of color. Nightlife is readily available for those who wish to enjoy sharing an intimate table overlooking the beach or dancing the night away to live bands. Morning walks in the sand always brought us exotic-looking shells and laughter as we watched the many birds enjoying their breakfast of fish.
The ‘locals’ are friendly, the shops are so fun, the pier is very enjoyable, and everywhere we went - we found so much more than we could ever ask or imagine. There were so many activities offered that we couldn’t get them all into one vacation.
Our camera was completely full of photos - none of which were deleted!
We’ll definitely recommend Fort Myers Beach to everyone we know, and although we just returned home a couple of weeks ago, we already long to go back.

  • My husband & I live on Inis Mor, the Aran Islands, Co. Galway, Ireland. In spring 2008 we rented for a month in Fort Myer Beach and found our second “home of the heart”. Since then, the global downturn has occured that is affecting folks here in the west of Ireland as much as in the U.S.A. We decided that we can do without a lot of things but not Fort Myers Beach. We’ll be returning for two weeks this year on February 6th and will be sure to visit your new visitors centre.
    Until then, best regards -
