1) Decide whether you want the Ceremony, Reception, or Both on the Beach

Depending on the sun, some of your guests might only be able to handle one. If you plan on having your Wedding Ceremony at sunset and the Reception into the night, that might be a better option. Also, be sure to inform your guests of proper attire. There’s nothing more uncomfortable than loose sand in your shoes.

2) Public or Private

There‘s a large mix of public and private beaches in Fort Myers Beach. If you’re hosting an event at a local resort, most offer areas that can be exclusive or roped off for your wedding guests. Most other beaches are open to the public. If you’re having a smaller wedding, you may be able to find a private residence or rent out a beachfront restaurant for the occasion.   

3) Permit Needed

You may need a permit to have your beachfront wedding depending on all your festivities. Do you plan on having loud music outside? How about alcohol consumption outside? Fireworks?
