Fort Myers Beach Transportation

How to get here and how to get around the island.

Whether you’re flying into Southwest Florida International Airport, driving in on I-75, or looking for an easy way to get up and down Estero Island, here’s what you need to know about getting to and around Fort Myers Beach.

Getting Here

From Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW)

From the airport, take Tree Line Ave. to Daniels Pkwy., then turn left onto U.S. 41 (Tamiami Trail/Cleveland Ave.), then right onto Gladiolus Dr. Merge onto Summerlin Rd. toward Ft. Myers Beach, and after about 4 miles turn left onto San Carlos Blvd., which takes you over the bridge to the island.

From I-75

Take Exit 131 west onto Daniels Pkwy., then follow the same route via U.S. 41, Gladiolus Dr., Summerlin Rd. and San Carlos Blvd.

Airport Taxi & Transportation Services

Need a ride from the airport, to dinner, or across town? Chamber members offer taxi, shuttle and transportation services throughout the area. Profiles include contact information and, where provided, service areas and rates.

Getting Around the Island

Trolley Routes 410 & 490

LeeTran’s trolley is the easiest way to get up and down the island. Route 410 runs from Bowditch Point Park to Lover’s Key State Park, and Route 490 runs from the Beach Park & Ride to Crescent Beach. Look for ‘Trollee’ signs and benches along San Carlos Blvd. and Estero Blvd.

Fares

Rides cost 75 cents, $2 for an all-day pass or $4 for a 3-day pass. Bring exact fare, since drivers can’t make change, or pay cashless with the LeeFare app or a TropiCard. Discounted 35-cent fares are available to seniors 65 and older, persons with disabilities and full-time students, and children 6 and under ride free.

Free Tram/Route 420

The free Beach Tram runs between Bowditch Point Park and the FMB Public Library from November through April each season. Tram service has stopped until November 2026.

Beach Park & Ride

Leave your car at the Beach Park & Ride, 11101 Summerlin Square Dr., and take the 490 Trolley to Crescent Beach. Both the trolley and tram have ramps for wheelchairs and scooters, and the trolley carries bikes on exterior racks.
